Indiana Horse Rescue ~ East Division

Nicky

(pictures up soon!)

Wow!!  This boy has made a remarkable recovery.  He has totally retracted and the swelling is now gone in his sheath.  He still has some abrasion that we want to make sure heals correctly, so he won't be available for at least another week.  But for now, he has made a new friends with Socks and they have become best buddies.  We have had to put Nicky back outdoors as he appears to have an allergic reaction to the shavings in the stalls.  Thank goodness the weather has been great!

Nicky came to us due to having a prolapsed sheath.  Now many may ask "what do you do?"  Unfortunately as a rescue, we have seen this numerous times.  So, you may ask, how do you put it in a sling?  We have become all too familiar with how to do it and how to treat it.   Nicky's treatment is coming along and the swelling is going down.  We can only hope he gets the recovery he so much deserves.
